90WNiCu Alloy Counterweight

1. What's 90WNiCu Alloy Counterweight?
90WNiCu alloy counterweight is high-specific-gravity tungsten alloy balancing weight containing approximately 90% tungsten, with nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu) as the binder phase. Produced through powder metallurgy, CTIA's 90WNiCu alloy counterweight provides precisely distributed mass for weight compensation, center-of-gravity adjustment, rotational balancing and moment-of-inertia control, with non-magnetic properties suited to magnetic-field-sensitive automotive, aerospace, robotics and precision equipment.
2. Features of CTIA's 90WNiCu Alloy Counterweight
(1) Non-Magnetic Characteristics: Uses nickel and copper as the binder phase without ferromagnetic iron elements, featuring relative magnetic permeability close to 1. It is less likely to produce magnetic response in strong magnetic field environments, reducing interference with precision magnetic fields and detection signals.
(2) High Density: Density is 16.85–17.25 g/cm³, approximately 2.2 times that of steel and 1.5 times that of lead. Under the same mass the counterweight occupies smaller volume, suitable for counterweight design with limited internal equipment space.
(3) Relatively High Strength: As-sintered tensile strength is typically 750–900 MPa, yield strength 560–680 MPa and elongation 7%–12%, capable of withstanding inertial loads and mechanical stress during equipment operation, suitable for rotating and precision motion components.
(4) Dimensional Stability: With a linear expansion coefficient of approximately 4.3–5.2 μm/m·°C, maintains stable dimensions and counterweight positioning under temperature changes.
(5) Good Machinability: Supports turning, milling, drilling, tapping and grinding for mounting holes, threads, notches, steps and irregular contours, adapting to different installation structures and assembly methods.
3. Applications of CTIA's 90WNiCu Alloy Counterweight
(1) Precision Instruments and Magnetic Field Equipment: Used in precision instruments, detection equipment and electromagnetic devices sensitive to magnetic field interference. Center-of-gravity adjustment and mass balancing are achieved by increasing mass and adjusting counterweight position.
(2) Aerospace and Inertial Navigation: Used in gyroscope rotors, inertial assemblies, satellite attitude control and drone balancing components to achieve mass concentration and inertia distribution regulation within limited space.
(3) Industrial Machinery and Automation: Used as counterweight components in rotating mechanisms, motion platforms, robotic arms and automation equipment. Equipment center of gravity and motion balance are improved by adjusting mass position to reduce vibration impact during operation.
(4) Medical Imaging Equipment: Used in equipment sensitive to magnetic field environments such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for mass compensation and position balancing of motion components.
(5) Automotive and Precision Motion: Used in rotating and motion components requiring compact mass configuration. Higher density reduces counterweight volume while improving mass distribution and dynamic balance of components.
(6) Ocean Engineering: Used in underwater equipment, marine instruments and non-magnetic counterweight systems with magnetic property requirements to provide stable mass compensation and center-of-gravity adjustment for equipment.
