1. What's Non-Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Counterweight?
Non-magnetic tungsten alloy counterweight generally refers to W-Ni-Cu tungsten alloy counterweight, which contains no iron-based binder phase and therefore has non-magnetic characteristics. It is mainly used in equipment requiring mass balancing with strict requirements for magnetic field interference. 2. Features of CTIA's Non-Magnetic Tungsten Alloy Counterweight
(1) Non-Magnetic and Low Magnetic Interference: W-Ni-Cu tungsten alloy contains no iron-based binder phase and has low magnetic permeability. The relative magnetic permeability of some grades can be as low as μ ≤ 1.02, helping minimize interference with magnetic field uniformity and magnetically sensitive components in strong magnetic field environments.
(2) High Density and Small Volume: Density is typically 16.5–18.75 g/cm³, allowing a relatively large counterweight mass within limited installation space and making it suitable for compact precision equipment.
(3) Good Thermal Conductivity and Dimensional Stability: Has good thermal conductivity, with thermal conductivity reaching 80–115 W/m·K for some grades. Low coefficient of thermal expansion helps limit dimensional changes caused by temperature variation.
(4) Good Strength and Corrosion Resistance: Offers good strength and vibration resistance, with tensile strength reaching 700–1200 MPa for some grades. The copper-based binder phase helps improve corrosion resistance in humid environments.
(5) High Density and X-Ray Attenuation: Tungsten has high atomic number and high density, providing good attenuation of X-rays and γ-rays. Certain medical equipment components can combine counterweighting and radiation shielding requirements through appropriate structural design.
